Locosan (Jerry Lockey) describes his ceramic art vision as a "design and build" process, involving molding, shaping, hand-building, and glazing with vintage glazes. His primary inspiration is his wife and muse, Dara. Lockey explores ways to tell stories through vessels and sculptures, utilizing color, shape, and texture to display contradictions and/or symmetry derived from his experiences and inspirations. His motto, the Japanese word "Shouganai," reflects a philosophy of "going with the flow and moving forward". Lockey's pieces are available at Mockingbird Handprints, and he was recently selected for the Texas Landscape Exhibition hosted by the San Antonio Art League and Museum.
