The H-E-B store at 2118 Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio's Jefferson neighborhood opened in 1942. It was one of the first two H-E-B stores to open in the city, alongside a location on Broadway. Today, 80 years after the first stores opened in San Antonio, H-E-B boasts 46 stores across the city, and is one of the largest employers in San Antonio.
